Buq Aqable falls to the SNA forces after decade of alshabab rule

Buq Aqable town in Hiran Province is the latest to fall to the hands of Somali National Army and local fighters killing eight al-Shabaab militants, after more than a decade of the group’s rule, according to the state media. 

Major Hassan Mohamed Osman the commander of 16th battalion of Somalia’s elite forces DANAB has confirmed to the SNA Radio that the army have fully taken over from al-Shabaab the strategic area of Buq Aqable which is just 40 km in the north of Buloburde district. 

Buq Aqable was one of the main al-Shabaab stronghold in Hiran Province.
