The group of al Shabab militants led by Mohamed Ali Hassan aka Moalim Hudeyfa has on Monday defected to the government forces in Hirshabelle state, said statement from ministry of information.
The ring leader Moalin Hudeyfa has been leading in a recent operation in Middle Shabelle province in which terrorist have suffered huge lose.
Meanwhile, Somali National Army captured eight al Shabab militants who tried to hide in the forest of Hirshabelle after overpowered them by the government forces in the recent offensives.
“One day ago, in the same area Saed Rage who was in charge as traditional leader of the group defected to the government,” added the statement.
