Four corruption case Defendants appeared today before the Banadir Court

Banadir Regional Court on Thursday begins hearing of four government officials on corruption charges and embezzlement.

The much anticipated case was brought by the Office of Attorney General of four officials from Immigration Directorate who have been accused of diverting millions US dollars.

Abdulahi Mohamud Osoble was in charge of the foreigners department of the Immigration and his deputy Omar Moalin Nur, Sabir Hassan Abdinor head of visa extension and head of Visa issues Adan Mohamed Abdi are the officials who heard their case by the court today.

On July 9, 2023, the Office of Somalia’s General Prosecutor released the names of 18 government officials who charged the corruption cases from 1018 up to 2023.

Its first, high profile corruption case being brought before the court since the government began the anti-corruption campaign in the stewardship of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
