In collaboration with Somalia’s International security partners the armed forces conducted a planned operation at Jilib town in Middle Jubba province in southern Somalia, according to the government statement.
The ministry of Information of Somalia has confirmed that on Monday the allied forces have carried out successful attacks against al Shabab members in their stronghold Jilib causing huge damage to the militants.
The terrorist has suffered heavy casualties during this operation, said the statement.
In the recent weeks, Somali forces and their partners have been conducting offensive against the militants strongholds, amid the campaign against the Khawarij interred its second phase as the National Army moving towards terrorist bases in Galgadud province in Galmudug state.
