Interior Minister and CDF discusses today the humanitarian aid access in the newly freed areas

Somalia’s interior Minister Ahmed Fiqi has today met in Mogadishu military officials led by Somali Chief of Defense Forces Brigadier General Odawa Yusuf Rage, and discussed the ongoing anti-terror operations, drought relief efforts, local governments in the newly liberated areas and delivering public services.

The CDF has shared with the minister what he saw in the newly liberated villages and possibility to assist the drought affected people, stabilization process, said in the statement from the ministry.

The SNA will provide all logistic support in the drought response and other humanitarian aid access, and asked the ministry to prepare the services they need for people who live in the newly liberated areas, he said.

During talks, the minister has lauded the counter terrorism offensive led by Somali National Army and local freedom fighters, and he stressed that his ministry and entire government institutions will deliver the basic needs and implement stabilization process.

“He prolonged the interlinked issues of drought response and stabilization of the newly freed areas,” said in the statement from the ministry.
