State minister of the office of prime minister Hirsi Jama Gani met today in Mogadishu officials from Somali Disaster Management Agency led by the chairperson and was updated him the ongoing drought relief in the country.
The meeting also attended by some national drought committee member.
The state minister has encouraged the officials to expedite the drought response efforts to reach the in-need people urgently.
Somali government is paying its ultimate price to support the drought affected people and avert the devastating famine in Somalia.
On their side, the agency and drought committee have presented the area they have already delivered the aid and the places planning to reach soon.
The United Nations says more a billion dollar in funding is needed in Somalia to prevent a full-blown starvation.
