Over 100 Alshabab militants have been killed in Eldhere village in Hirshabelle state, after government forces conducted airstrikes in the area last night, according to the Somali government officials.
Somalia’s deputy minister of information Abdirahman Yusuf, said in the media briefing today in Mogadishu more than 100 alshabab militants were killed in a well planned operation carried out by the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency and National Army alongside with international partners.
This comes, after government forces got information about the terrorist have been regrouping in the Eldhere village to attack the areas recently being kick out, and to foiled that threat the security forces have taken action against the Khawarij militants, said the deputy minister.
Eldhere village which is located near the border line between Hiran and Middle Shabelle provinces in which most operations against Khawarij militants are happening right now.
“More than 200 alshabab militants including 12 senior group’s leaders were staying in the area, we killed over 100 of them along with 10 ring leaders,” said the deputy minister.
