Over 80 Alshabab militants were killed and many more were injured, after government forces and international partners conducted coordinated operations in Juhay village near Adan Yabal district in Middle Shabelle province, said deputy minister of information.
In his media brief tonight, Abdirahman Yusuf said the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency NISA supported by international allies have carried out a successful operation against alshabab militants in Gulane village, where over 80 militants were confirmed dead.
“88 Alshabab terrorists were killed in a planned security operation conducted by Somali National Army with the support of Somalia’s International security partners near Juhay village in Middle Shabelle in the past 48 hours,” Deputy Information Minister.
He also said the target position was a place where up to 400 militants were staying and officials counted 35 dead and many others were beyond recognition due to heavy weapons being used.
This comes, just day after when government killed around 28 militants in the area, and its major blow for the terrorist.
