NISA arrests 4 Banadir staff for al Shabab link

Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency NISA have launched an investigation on government civil servants members to find out whether they have some sort of connection with al Shabab, according to the local media.

Four medical staff of Banadir regional has now been put in custody for further probe and two of them have already admitted being members of al Shabab.

For years, security experts have been warning that al Shabab have infiltrated into government institutions and fed terrorists with information and tactics.

NISA has received a list of names of De Martino hospital staff and carried out an investigation that led to identifying members of al Shabab working under the name of the government.

Military and civilian members of government officials have been found for al Shabab membership before, responsible for deadly explosions and plotting against other government officials.
