In a bitterly contested mayoral election that happened on Saturday in Huddur town Omar Abdulahi Mohamud was elected as the new district commissioner in the coming four years, beating a long serving DC Mohamed Moalin by 17 and 10 votes respectively.
27 local council members have been casting their votes.
Officials led by the South west minister of interior have been observing the process, overnight there were intensive campaigns on this election, which many of the results have shocked them.
After the results were announced the jubilations and cheering started in the streets of Huddur the Provincial capital of Bakol.
