With the support of local fighters, Somali National Armed Forces continue to claw back many villages and towns in Galmudug and Hirshabelle States that had been under Alshabab terrorists control for the last 15 years, according to the statement.
In statement from ministry of information has said that over 200 terrorists were killed in this week’s military operations in the country.
“The Somali government is acknowledged the role of the local people, after they endure the terrorist’s hash rule turned to them and sided with the army and fight,” said in the statement.
The militants when they are defeated at the battlefield in retaliation will carry out another vicious attack on the key infrastructures like bridges, water wells, farms and roads to avoid the government calling the public to take extra vigilance and precautions.
The ministry’s statement also indicated that the Somali government urged the public in the following security notice to be on alert against al-Shabaab possible attacks.
1. Public should be on alert during these ongoing operations against the militants
2. Hotels, restaurants, business lords should exercise extra caution and report to the security in case of suspicious activities or persons.
3. People should reduce non-essential movements.
