Somali president H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has on Monday honored the country’s’ under 17 National Football Team who won Central and East Africa zonal qualifiers, and he urged the players to make the country name proud and opened the victory door as they lifted CECAFA trophy.
In a color event held in the presidential palace village, the president presented the players awards to encourage and make them proud of their country.
“Under 17 age youth who lifted the trophy, and brave peers in the front lines to fight terrorist and defending the country are two good signals which shows us the competence and potentiality of our people,” said the president.
The government is committed to one hand is fighting for the terrorist and other hand will create bright future for the Somali youth, added the president.
Early on, hundreds of Mogadishu residents queued in and around the Adan Abdulle Airport to welcome their National Football Team who have crowned the CECAFA champions in this year 2022.
