Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud who is visiting United States has met there with the US secretary of state Anthony Blinken and discussed the range of issues including the bilateral relations between Somalia and United States, combating terrorism and responding the drought in the country.
In a tweet, the president said “We agreed on the importance of combating terrorism, promoting good governance and responding to drought in Somalia. The USA is a strategic partner in Somalia’s sustainable development and progress”.
President Mohamud also met with the US secretary of defense Lliond Ustin discussing the security cooperation between the two countries and how Washington will continue its support for Somali government in the fight against terrorist groups.
