Somalia’s president H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has on Saturday held a consultative meeting with some of famous Somali religious scholars and he briefed them in the fight against al-Shabaab which government is a flag bearer now.
In the statement, the president has outlined his administration’s first priorities which is to liberate al-Shabaab terror group from this Horn of Africa nations.
The Somali government and its international allies have been fighting with one of the most powerful AlQeada affiliate alshabab insurgent groups for more than a decade.
“Alshabab has constantly massacred Somali people and they are an obstacle to the country’s development,” said in the statement. Adding that the religious scholars are the backbone of the ongoing liberation campaign against al-Shabaab militant.
President Mohamud has ordered the ministry of endowment and religious affair to invite all Somali ulimas and hold congress on the formation of Somali Ulima association.
