Somalia prime minister Hamza Abdi Barre, has on Wednesday morning returned back to Mogadishu after he attended the TICAD 8 conference hosted by Tunisia on 28th august 2022.
During his tour in Tunisia, he had sidelined meetings with different heads of states including the Tunisian president Keise Saed and other officials who had been attending the Tokyo International Development Conference in Tunisian capital Tunis.
In his remarks at the TICAD 8 conference, the prime minister Barre has bolded the natural resources his country has, despite immense challenges ahead insecurity and recurrent droughts which affected millions of people.
He reiterates his commitment towards fighting against terrorist group and asked to stand with that for his administration to defeat this grinding insurgency, which has been battling in Somalia for last 15 years.
The Somali premier had also met there with the Japanese foreign minister and discussed strengthening the bilateral relations between the two Nations, in particular the economic cooperation.
Upon his arrival at the Mogadishu airport the prime minister and his delegation including the minister of planning and state minister for foreign affairs received a warm welcome by senior government officials.
