More than 16 al-Shabaab militants have been killed in a separate operation against the militants, which has been going on in Hirshabelle state for the last 24 hours, according to the ministry of defense spokesman.
In a media brief this Saturday afternoon in the capital, general Abdullahi Ali Anod, said that the Somali National troops backed by local fighters have been doing offensive against terrorist militants in the areas near Adan Yabal district in Middle Shabelle province.
The army has liberated Gulane, Daru-salam, Harga-dhere and Mabah villages which are located in the border line between Hiran and Middle Shabelle province, said the spokesman.
