Up to seven al-Shabaab militants have been killed today in Hiran province in an operation carried out by Somalia’s national army elite unit Gorgor, according to the state media.
The army also cleared al-Shabaab remnants in the area, the 8th Platoon of the 18th Battalion of the SNA conducted on Wednesday operation against the militants near Nur Fanah village in Hiran.
Offensives against alshabab have been scaled in recent weeks, the terrorist losing ground day after day, as Somali National Army and local freedom fighters have been gaining momentum and moving toward alshabab militants’ strongholds.
