Somali National Army and local freedom fighters have gallantly repelled in a pre-dawn attempt attack waged by the terrorist group alshabab on the army base in the recent liberated Qayib town in Galgadudu on Monday morning, according to the officials.
Defense ministry spokesman General Abdulahi Ali Anod who spoke to the state media confirmed that the militants have encountered resistance from the army and will soon brief the media about this attack.
General Anod noted that the militants have fled the area with a huge blow.
Qayib town which close to the Bahdo town, was one of the latest freed areas from alshabab terrorist during this uprising against the militants.
