Somali National Army and Galmudug’s paramilitary Darawish have on Tuesday taken over from alshabab militant Qayib town in Galgadud province, according to the state media.
Qayib is a strategic town which is roughly 120 km south west of Adado district, and alshabab terror group was mobilizing zone for organizing in their military operations in Galgadud and Mudug provinces.
State media quoted by government officials on the ground have reported that the militants have a so-called court in the town, but today coalition forces have destroyed it.
Government forces backed by local militia have been advancing in their operations against alshabab, this is another major setback for terrorist.
