In a meeting that happened over the weekend in the capital Mogadishu, the director of Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency NISA Mahad Salad and Ethiopia’s deputy chief spy Mr. Sisay Tola had discussed a number of issues related to security of the two countries and in the region.
This comes, when Ethiopia deputy director general had arrived in the capital bringing with medical equipments and medicines sent from Ethiopian government for the victims of the 29th October terrorist attack in Mogadishu.
During their talks, the officials have had fruitful discussion on security cooperation both countries and in order to reduce the fear of such incidents anti-terrorism struggle in East Africa should be strengthened.
According to Ethiopia Press Agency, quoted by country’s Spy officials said that Mr. Sisay announced his team will continue to strengthen its cooperation with its counter terrorism in areas of capacity building and information exchange, pointed out that he has started work by sending a team that will do research on the causes and solutions related to the recent terrorist attacks and help the government.
The director of the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency General Mahad Mohammed has thanked the Ethiopian government for the help.
It has been noted that cooperation with Ethiopia, which is a key partner in fighting the threat that is spreading in East Africa, is required for a coordinated movement.
According to the information obtained from the National Information and Security Service, during his recent visit to Ethiopia, the president of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohammed has discussed with Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed on improving security conditions around the border and enhancing public to public relations.
