The finance minister of Somali Dr. Elmi M. Nor who is attending 31st Arab League finance ministerial meeting in Algeria has on Friday addressed the summit.
During his keynote speech there, he highlighted the country’s financial reforms, debt relief process and how his country is needing the support of its fellow Arab countries during this difficult time.
Somalia is facing one of its worst droughts in 40 years, after being failed four consecutive rainy seasons, according to aid agencies more than seven million people are in need of humanitarian assistance.
This meeting is the build up to the Heads of States and Government’s Summit, that is slated to begin on Tuesday, 1 November, next week.
